Hello. I don't have an answer to your question but would you mind telling me what the prices are for the machines you quoted above? I'm looking for the EXACT things you are, less the mower. I'm going to a NH dealer (in NH) tomorrow and will also check an orange dealer on the way.<br>I'm getting the impression that Green is great but a little higher priced than the rest due to higher demand. And Blue maybe be the most value for the dollar, with Orange in between. They are all great tractors from what the people post. I haven't thought of Cub yet (and don't want to be more confused).<br>Thanks. Pete Reinhard

First, thanks to all those that answered my first question and thanks to dsg and PaulB for the offer to try their equipment out. I live in Mass and can't take the time to travel that far. (I do have relatives in Pompey/Jamesville (Gates Road?) south of Syracuse and they have a bit of land. My brother-in-law even has his own bull dozer. I'm jealous.)<br>Anyway, this is a question about HST reliability. I'm convinced after hearing all of the people on this board and trying one machine myself that HST is the way to go. However, what is the repair history of these HST units? It

Hello. I'm still looking at what tractor to buy and recently rented a Teramite 20 hp gas loader/backhoe. Here is my question with respect to the hydrostatic operation:<br>I figure that the HST would operate similar to a gear tractor in low range when I press the peddle just a little bit. However, this rental just seemed to stop when digging into a large pile of stone sand. I had to kind of floor-it, wiggling the bucket, etc, to get a bite. But, i'm confused. Advancing the peddle is like shifting into high gear. Why, when just with a little peddle it doesn't walk right into it, like supper-low on my truck?<br>Maybe it was just beat from heavy rental use? I also had a very whiny noise. After 8 hours it was kind of annoying. As much as I think HST is the way to go, maybe gears aren't that bad either. With gear, you would need a convient way to shift into reverse like some of the new tractors have.<br>Thanks. Pete Reinhard<br>hanks.

Hello. I'm still looking for what compact to buy. How well does your 4100 dig? meaning how well does it handle the 60

I'm still thinking of Kubota, JD or NH and find this very hard to decide. Most people say just get a good dealer that will stand by the equipment it sells. That makes sense. But, why did you choose between the 4100 and the new 790, which has 10 more hp?
